  • Newsletter - February 2016

    Mon 01 Feb 2016

We have had a very busy first half term with transfer results, special visitors, educational trips and we are certainly ready for a short break over half term. We still have some very exciting events to look ahead to in the remainder of this term.

Well done to our P7s who got their AQE results this month- they were absolutely brilliant. 14 pupils sat the test and we were delighted with their outstanding scores. Thank you to all of the parents who attended the P7 transfer interviews.

Over the next months we should be starting the whole transfer procedure again in P6. All P6 parents will receive a letter at their parent interview in March explaining the transfer procedure and the systems that we have in place for preparing the children for this. You will then need to start thinking about whether you and your child will be considering applying for the AQE entrance tests for Grammar Schools. You will be aware from the news and newspapers that there is still much uncertainty in this whole procedure. Each time I receive any news from the AQE Association or any developments from Department of Education I will let P6 parents know. If you have any questions or concerns about the process please make an appointment to see me.

  • Victor Sinclair Cup

    Sat 30 Jan 2016

The football team have been drawn against Seaview in the semi-final draw for the Victor Sinclair Cup. The winners will then play the winners of the other semi-final between Inchmarlo and St John the Baptist on the same day. The matches will take place at Olympia Leisure Centre the week beginning 22nd February. Good luck guys!

  • AQE results

    Sat 30 Jan 2016

Good luck to all our P7 pupils awaiting their AQE results today. They all worked incredibly hard preparing for them so hopefully all that dedication and commitment will be rewarded. Whatever scores they achieve, we are proud of all of them for giving it their best effort.

  • Primary Rugby Programme

A reminder for parents of P6 and P7 children taking part in Ashfield Boys' Primary Rugby Programme that the first session is on Friday 29th February. The minibus will pick the kids up just before 2.30pm and return them to school around 3.30pm. The next session will be on Friday 26th February.

  • East Belfast Festival Day

    Thu 28 Jan 2016

Our footballers continued their fine run of form with two wins and a draw in their matches at the second BPSFA East Belfast Festival Day organised by Mr Ryden. They beat Harding Memorial 4-1 and Knocknagoney 5-0 and drew 1-1 with Nettlefield. Well done again to Mr Dunlop and the team.
