Week 3 (20.4.20)
I hope you have had a good Easter and have enjoyed the sunny days. I have loved hearing the birds sing.
Now it is time to do some school work at home.
This week you will be thinking about how many tens and ones in numbers.
Then on day 4: add 3 numbers together
Remember to add the tens and then the ones- you can use your number line to help you!
If I know that 2+4+3 = 9 …..
Then in I know that 20 + 40+ 30 = 90
Now add the ones:
Day 5 is tricky so look carefully at the examples and have a go at partitioning the number in different ways!
Remember to send me pictures of your work to firstname.lastname@example.org if your are in room 6 and send pictures to Mrs Johnston if you are in Room 5. We would love to see it. Have a go!!!
Mental Maths - Do a few minutes of each each day
- TIME - show on your clock some o'clock, half past ,quarter past and quarter to times ( a few every day)
- Your helpful adult can make some times on your clock and you read it to them.
- Ask your child to tell you about a number eg. 75 is 7 tens and 5 ones, 98 is 9tens and 8 ones
- Count in 5's to 100
- Count in 10's to 100
- Count on 2's to 50
- Count in 3's to 30
Ensure your child says the numbers clearly. The mental maths section should only take 10 minutes so spread this work out throughout the week.
Now time for your activity. 1 per day .
