Count in tens and then on in ones to find out how many objects.
Tuesday
Today we are going to do some practical work making tens and ones numbers. Let your child experiment to see what numbers they can build. Can they tell you how many tens and ones are in each number they make? Next ask them to make a number between 1-50. Can they tell you how many tens and ones are in the number? Repeat. Then make a number for your child and get them to tell you which number you have created. You can print out the dienes, use things you have in the house or use the online dienes. The powerpoint will give you some examples of numbers that can be made.
Wednesday
Write under each set of dienes how many tens and ones.
Thursday
There is a powerpoint with some mental maths questions on tens and ones. How many can you get right? On the worksheet count how many tens and ones and write the number in the box below it.
