Week 7- Summarising and Ocean Habitats

In Literacy this week we’re learning about the different layers of the ocean and the plants and animals that make their home in each layer. You’re also going to be considering the important skill of summarising. Over the next few weeks you’ll be reading lots of non-fiction texts about The Blue Planet and it’s important that you pay close attention to the key information. We’ll then begin to use these note-making and summarising skills to plan for writing in the next few weeks. It’s a difficult concept to get right, sometimes we take too many notes and other times we take too few so practise will make perfect and don’t worry if you’re finding it tough, this is new in P5 but you can practise again in P6 and P7. Do get in touch with your teacher if you need additional help as they’ll be happy to help you on a more individual basis.
