Inverary Community Centre
About the Centre
lnverary Community Centre was opened in 1993 as one of 22 directly managed community centres with a locally elected Community Centre Committee.
They provide a warm welcome to their high quality community facility for residents of the Sydenham area and they aim to encourage and support community action to address needs identified by local people.
The centre employs two full-time Community Development Officers (CDO) and a part-time Assistant Community Development Officers (ACDO) based in the centre. It's their role to manage the centre, and to initiate and support local community groups and activities with and for the benefit of the local community.
At the heart of your community
As well as regular activities, they are involved in a number of groups and projects which vary all the time.
The community centre runs seasonal play schemes for primary school children during the summer holidays, and provide a glass recycling point. You can access these during centre opening hours.
You'll find information on events and other projects and organisations in the city and beyond displayed in the centre. Call in and ask a member of staff who will be happy to help you.
