Week 8- Week Beginning 1st March
Week 8 – Length
Welcome to week 8 of remote learning in Maths. After all the baking fun from last week we are moving on to look at length. For this week you will need a ruler. A 30cm ruler would be best, but any size of ruler can be used providing it had cm on it. There is also the option to print one at the bottom of this page should you need to.
They key facts to remember this week are below.
1cm = 10mm
1 metre = 100cm
We will begin by measuring and drawing lines accurately using a ruler. Remember to be very careful to measure from 0cm and not from the edge of the ruler – that is where most mistakes happen. We will then be rounding length, converting units and finally investigating our houses using a metre. As always each day you should do one online activity and one written activity.
Don’t forget to send your work through to your teacher either on Seesaw or by email. We love to see all the hard work you are doing at home. Have a great week and remember your teacher is on hand if you need any help or support.
