Round & Round the Garden- Week 1
The story for this week is
Mrs Honey's Hat
Listen to the story of Mrs Honey’s Hat using the video attached. Talk about the pictures and look for words you know as you read it. What’s your favourite part of the story? How many objects on her hat can you name without looking at the book? Can you remember what happened on the different days of the week?
Activities -
Draw Mrs Honey’s hat and add some of the objects on. Have a go at labelling them
eg gum, web, eggs.
Can you think of any words that rhyme with the objects on her hat?
eg egg – peg, leg, beg
shell – bell, fell, well
Sound revision
This week revise the sounds
r m d
Make sure your child can say the sounds. Practise writing the sound on a page, on your whiteboard and use play dough to make the sound. If you don't have play dough you could practise writing the sound in sand/ shaving foam or flour on a table.
Use the Jolly Phonics songs to help.
