  • Girls' football team

    Thu 18 Jun 2026

Our girls' football team put in a fantastic effort across four matches at the recent Galactico Soccer Girls Tournament, showing great determination and teamwork throughout the day.

We began with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Strandtown with Carys scoring and a great assist from Georgia. Next came a closely contested 0-0 draw against Finaghy, where the girls showed great determination. They then secured a brilliant 2-0 victory over Ballymagee including a fabulous second goal from Carys with Gemma providing the assist.

We secured a place in the semi-final but our final match was against a strong Rathmore side, ending in a 2-0 defeat. Despite the result, the team never stopped working and represented Victoria Park with pride.

Our Player of the Tournament went to Raia who worked so well with every team member, adjusting her play for each game and never giving up. A huge thank you to Tanya for the effort she puts into working with our girls during the year, building skills and confidence to be able to compete in these tournaments. Finally, the biggest congratulations to all of our players for their effort, attitude and teamwork. We are very proud of you all. Thanks as well to Mrs Perrott who accompanied the girls to the tournament

  • Choir trip to St Mark's Church

    Wed 27 May 2026

The choir enjoyed a fantastic trip to St Mark's Church on Wednesday 13th May to attend a workshop run by the John Brown University Chapel Choir as part of their tour to Northern Ireland from Arkansas. Our choir had the opportunity to participate in singing activities along with JBU choir and Strathearn Prep as well as perform two of our own pieces in this beautiful setting. The boys and girls sang beautifully, a real testament to all their hard work over the past year. The choir also got the chance to listen to the incredible JBU choir perform various songs. A big thanks to Mrs Beattie for organising the workshop for them.

  • P4 classes commemorating VE Day 1945

    Mon 18 May 2026

The P4 classes had a great time commemorating VE Day 1945 style as part of their World War 2 topic. As well as decorating the classroom with bunting, they played Queenio, skipped and played Jack Straws, dominoes, cards and tiddlywinks. They also sang big band songs and used their ration books at their very own shop. It was an amazing day full of fun and no technology was needed!

  • Delmont Residential Trip

    Wed 06 May 2026

The two P7 classes had a fantastic time at Delamont Education Centre on their residential trips last week and threw themselves enthusiastically into all the activities they did. The centre staff were also extremely complimentary about their behaviour during their stay. Thank you as well to all the staff who gave up their time to accompany the two groups - Mrs Ellitson, Mrs McDougall and Mr Ryden. We are so lucky to have such dedicated staff who want to give the children such amazing opportunities. They will have made memories that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Mrs Ellitson put this lovely video together as a memento of the two classes' time away.

  • Bangor Choral Festival

    Tue 05 May 2026

On Thursday 23rd April, our school choir performed for the first time at Bangor Choral Festival along with lots of other schools. The choir sang beautifully in front of almost 300 people and received very positive comments from the judges. We are very proud of all the hard work choir put into this superb performance. Well done to Mrs McDonnell and Mrs Mitchell for all their time and effort preparing the choir for the festival.

    Mon 27 Apr 2026

Thanks to Angela from Street Puppets NI for coming in to school last Thursday to deliver fantastic interactive and practical workshops for our two P7 classes about the dangers of illegal drugs and the impact they can have on not only on themselves but within families, friendships and the wider community.

Congratulations to Zac from P7 on receiving his half marathon wristband this morning after completing 11 junior parkruns a couple of weeks ago. Well done Zac!

  • Well done Ethan!

    Tue 14 Apr 2026

After his recent trip to Canada to represent the Irish U13 ice hockey team in the SEDMHA Honda Minor Hockey tournament, he was chosen by his team coaches to receive the Esso Most Team Spirit medal. This is a recognised award in Canada which means his name will now be listed in the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto. What an amazing honour Ethan - well done!

  • Value of the Month - Respect

    Fri 27 Mar 2026

Our 'Value of the Month' in March was 'Respect'. We discussed the importance of recognising that we are all different and how we should treat everyone with kindness so they feel valued and accepted just as they are. We also looked at the importance of treating our environment, belongings and school property with care and respect. Well done to the children who received 'Pupil of the Week' for showcasing this value through their words and actions.

  • World Book Day at the EastSide Learning Reading Fair

    Mon 09 Mar 2026

The children from the ABC Club had a great time celebrating World Book Day at the EastSide Learning Reading Fair on Friday afternoon at the Skainos Centre. They performed their piece from The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe so well and each one of them represented our school superbly with their lovely manners and by celebrating other schools and their performances too. They even got to celebrate with an ice cream once they had finished. Mrs Ellitson and Miss McConnell were so proud of them.

A huge thank you to EastSide Learning for organising such a fabulous event and for inviting us to participate. Thank you also to Chris and Ross from Play It By Ear for helping the children with their performance - we had a wonderful time!
