Revised Staff Development Days 2025-26

On Friday schools were written to by the Department of Education and advised that they can allocate a further two staff development days within this school year, on top of the existing 5 days to be used. These days are to enable teachers to engage with the significant changes and developments that have been put in place as part of the Minister’s TransformEd Strategy, the new curriculum which will be phased in over the next 2-3 years.

I appreciate the timing of this is not ideal for families but the investment in teacher training and time allocation is vital for this to be implemented successfully for our children.

Where possible I have attached these to our existing planned staff training days or holidays.

Term 2

Monday 16^th March        School Development Day.

Tuesday 17^th March       St. Patrick’s Day. School closed.

Wednesday 1^st April      School Development Day.

   This forms the start of the Easter holiday so pupils will now finish school on Tuesday 31^st       March at 12.00

Term 3

Monday 4^th May               May Bank holiday.

Tuesday 5^th                      School Development Day.

Wednesday 6^th                 School Development Day.

Monday 25^th May             Bank holiday

Tuesday 26^th                          School Development Day.

Wednesday 27^th               School Development Day.

Mon 15^th June                   School Development Day.
