Winter Wonderland Week 5
Our story this week is
Percy the Park Keeper: One Snowy Night
Use the YouTube link below to listen to the story.
Talk about the pictures and listen for sounds and words you know.
Can you remember all the animals who came to Percy’s door?
Who came first/ last?
Did you guess what was coming up through the floor?
Use the page below (or piece of paper if you don’t have a printer) to draw a picture from the story and have a go at writing,
‘I can see the snow.’
Our sound for the week is:
'f'
Start by revising all the sounds we have learnt so far.
Learn the song for f & practise saying the sound and the action.
Ask an adult to help you find something in each room of your house that begins with f or has an f sound in it.
Complete the page for f in your sound homework book.
Watch Geraldine the Giraffe to help you practice this sound.
Revise all the words you know so far either with your word cards or the balloon powerpoint.
Our new word for this week is:
can
Write the word on a piece of paper.
Cut it into 3 pieces –
c a n
Can you build the word by putting the pieces back together?
You could try this with some words that rhyme with can (fan, man, nan, pan, ran, tan)
Make an ‘I can’ paper chain.
Ask a family member to help you write some things you can do on a strip of paper
e.g. I can run, I can count, I can hop
