  • Football News

    Mon 14 Dec 2015

Our football team have enjoyed a great start to their competitive season this year. They have performed admirably in all of their games to date and have been playing some excellent football. In a festival day that was kindly organised by Mr Ryden, the boys (and girl!) won 3 and drew 2 matches against local schools like Orangefield, Harding Memorial, St Josephs and Campbell College Prep. This was followed by an excellent victory against Cavehill Primary in the Victor Sinclair Cup.

On Friday 27th November the squad took part in the first IFA organised Futsal competition at Lisburn Leisureplex. It was a great day out for the team and there was some fantastic 'Samba-style' football on display with our own Cole Killops and Ryan McKay showing glimpses of Messi-like flicks and tricks! The boys (and girl) emerged as winners of their section, bringing home a trophy that will proudly take its place in our trophy cabinet! Unfortunately, on Tuesday Inchmarlo proved too strong for us in the P7 Cup resulting in a 4-2 loss. The team know they didn't play as well as they have done in previous weeks, but they worked tirelessly to try and claw their way back into the game. We now have a break until the new year, and I am sure they will recover some of the scintillating form that they have produced in some of their matches this year! Well done boys

    (and girl)!
