Sat 30 Oct 2021P7 Room 14 enjoyed using Clixi to investigate the different nets of a cube as well as playing some interactive games on the NRICH website during Maths Week.

Thu 28 Oct 2021P2 Room 4 enjoyed celebrating Maths Week with lots of seasonal fun! They made 2D shape scarecrows, played a subtraction game called Swipe the Spider and shared harvest vegetables. They even helped Winnie the Witch to order her pumpkins by size!

Wed 27 Oct 2021P5 Room 9 had a great action-packed week of fun maths activities to celebrate Maths Week Ireland. They started their week using their thinking, problem solving and budgeting skills to help buy supplies for an orphanage after learning about the story of Amy Carmichael. They then put their computational thinking and coding skills to the test, using directional language to solve problems using Probot. Later they began to investigate the festival of Diwali and the beautiful rangoli patterns, using their symmetry skills to create some of their own. Finally, they used their multiplication skills to create lovely colourful pictures.

Tue 26 Oct 2021Room 1 had LOTS of Halloween-related fun during Maths Week. They counted cauldron bubbles; compared and measured pumpkins; followed a recipe to make witches' brew; used a pumpkin and spiders to develop conservation of number, estimation and counting skills; chose different shapes for the face of the pumpkin; and estimated how many seeds might be inside then took turns to scoop out the seeds and counted how many each child scooped. What a busy week!
