• Maths Week

  Last week was Maths Week Ireland 2021. This is an all-Ireland celebration of maths and the children got to take part in lots of exciting and creative activities. Over the next few days, we will be showcasing what different classes got up to. Mrs Beatty's P3 maths groups took their learning outdoors. They have been looking at repeating patterns and made some in the classroom using cubes and lollipop sticks so they also made some using the things we found in the playground like leaves, berries and nuts. Aren't they brilliant?

  

• World Mental Health Day

  Pupils from P1-P7 celebrated World Mental Health Day the week before last.

  They completed activities in class learning how to look after their mind, strengthen resilience skills and boost self-esteem. They also completed some mindfulness colouring as part of our Take 5 activities. Here are our Artists of the Month and winners of our colouring competition! Congratulations to each and everyone of these superstars

• Cross-Community League

  We were delighted to welcome our friends from PeacePlayers into school this week after so long. Their coaches did a fun session with our P7 classes this morning after coming in yesterday to work with P6. They will also be in after Halloween to visit the P5 classes. If any P5-P7 parents are interested in their child joining their Cross-Community League on Tuesday nights (6-8pm) at Victoria College, email Mr Ryden (dryden451@c2kni.net) and he will be happy to give you more details. There is a free bus available with various pick up and drop off points in east Belfast.

• Congratulations Mason

  Congratulations to Mason in P5 Room 10 who was awarded Player of the Match on Saturday. Mason plays for the 2013 team at Knockbreda FC and during their match against Carryduff FC he scored twice. Well done, Mason!
