Northern Ireland School's Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships
Mon 02 Mar 2026Yesterday, the Victoria Park Gymnastics Team competed in the Northern Ireland School's Acrobatic Gymnastics Championships at the Aurora Complex in Bangor. Fourteen girls from P5, P6 and P7 competed against very tough competition. Carys, Devon, Penny, Freya, Beth, Katie, Isla and Eloise all competed in the pairs section of the competition with excellent results. Lainey, Kora, Poppy, Mia, Gemma and Megan completed the group section as a team of 6. The girls represented Victoria Park Primary School superbly and have shown dedication, determination and sportsmanship in the weeks and months leading up to the competition. Well done girls! A massive thank you as well to Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Ellitson for an incredible amount of hard work preparing the girls for the championships and giving up part of their weekend to accompany the team. They also put a lovely video together from the competition:

Ashfield Boys' Highschool Visit
Fri 12 Dec 2025Our P7 boys had a fantastic time at AshfieldBoys'HS_Belfast this morning. They were learning to develop and create their own retro arcade game using Microsoft MakeCode Arcade with Mrs McConnell and Miss Mulholland from the school's ICT department. It was amazing what the boys achieved in a couple of hours. A massive thank you to Mr Lowe, the Head of ICT, for organising the session for us.

They also got to see a few familiar faces in the cast and chorus. We cannot thank Mrs Hanvey and the staff at Ashfield Girls enough for having us!

Football Teams' Friendlies vs Braniel
Mon 08 Dec 2025Congratulations to the two players of the match from the football teams' friendlies against Braniel on Tuesday. It was a very difficult decision for Mr Gullen but Jenson was his pick for controlling the midfield brilliantly and bringing his teammates into the match with superb passing. An excellent all round performance. Tanya had an equally impossible job selecting for the girls. She went with team captain, Carys, for leading by example throughout the game and scoring a superb hat-trick. Well done Jenson and Carys!

Boys Football vs Stranmillis
Sun 12 Oct 2025Like the girls, the boys' football team played their first match of the season on Tuesday against Stranmillis. The team featured a lot of new faces who came in and worked very hard for each other. Unfortunately the result didn't go our way, but one player in particular shone in a new position. Logan stepped in as goalkeeper and made a string of incredible and important saves, keeping Victoria Park in the game. Well done Logan on your player of the match performance.

Girls Football - Liz Bryson Cup
Tue 07 Oct 2025Despite a fantastic second half performance, our girls' football team just couldn't find the back of the net after conceding three late goals before half-time against St Patrick's in the first round of the BPSFA's Liz Bryson Cup this afternoon. Well done to coach Tanya and the whole team on a battling performance. They should take a lot of pride in their first outing of the new school year. Thanks to all the parents who came down to support the girls.
And congratulations to Georgia, player of the match in the girls' cup tie against St Patrick's. Calm and assured in defence, she also tried to get forward at every opportunity. An outstanding performance.
