  • Rosa's Walk To Scotland

    Tue 19 Nov 2024

A big well done to Rosa. She has completed her 'Walk to Scotland' on Sunday to raise money for the NI Children to Lapland charity. She raised a grand total of £641.50 completing 16,520 steps. An amazing effort Rosa!

  • DARE Football Tournament

    Tue 01 Oct 2024

Our footballers had a busy schedule last week. The boys football team won their opening match of the season in the first round of the Davy Wilson Cup 2-1 away to Seaview Primary. They played some excellent football and worked together like a team that had more than just the two training sessions. Luke took Player of the Match for his two goals, but the whole team put in a great effort, including Nathan who stepped into goals and made a vital late, diving save.

The boys' and girls' teams then competed against 8 other schools in the DARE tournament at Avoniel on Friday. The girls did exceptionally well, finishing 4th among the 6 girls' teams. They beat St. Joseph's 2-1 with goals from Naomi and Lillie and they beat Nettlefield 5-0 with Lillie getting a hat trick alongside goals from Emily and Naomi. They played very well with Ruby making some outstanding saves. The boys won the 2nd place trophy, playing very well. After a difficult start against Strandtown they won their remaining matches in style with hat tricks from Taylor and Nathan, alongside 3 goals from Luke and 1 for Jenson in the final. The whole team has made a fantastic start to the season and have set some very high standards. Thanks to Dean and his team at DARE for all their hard work organising the tournament and making it such an enjoyable morning.

  • Wee Critters Come to Visit!

    Tue 24 Sep 2024

P4 had a very enjoyable visit from Wee Critters last week as Allan brought the wonder of wildlife straight to the classroom providing a unique, fun, memorable and educational experience. Their World Around Us topic is 'Winter is Coming' and the children learnt all about hibernation and migration. Thanks to Allan for coming to Victoria Park again.

  • Galactico Soccer Primary School Tournament

    Mon 03 Jun 2024

Our girls football team did us proud again at the Galactico Soccer Primary Schools tournament at Avoniel Leisure Centre yesterday morning. They topped their group after winning 2-0 against Rathmore and drawing 1-1 against Elmgrove and 0-0 against Towerview. Unfortunately, they narrowly lost their first place semi-final 1-0 against eventual winners Abbey. The girls were all amazing but a special mention has to go to our fantastic goalkeeper, Alivia, who played through the pain barrier after hurting her thumb blocking a shot. We have since found out that she actually suffered a fracture. Thanks to all the parents and grandparents who came down to cheer the girls on and to Graham Sloan and his team at Galactico Soccer for a very enjoyable morning as always. Finally, this is possibly the last outing for the girls this year so it would be remiss if we didn't give a final shout out to coach Tanya for all her incredible work with the girls week in, week out. We are incredibly lucky to have her championing girls football in the school

  • Victoria Park Welcomes The Belfast Giants!

    Thu 23 May 2024

We were delighted to welcome Belfast Giants players, Mark Garside and Andrew Dickson, to the school on Friday. They spoke to our P6 and P7 classes about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and the importance of nutrition, hydration, sleep and physical activity amongst other things. They were also more than happy to pose for photos and sign autographs afterwards. Thanks Mark and Andrew!

  • Hustle Award Winner!

    Fri 05 Apr 2024

Congratulations to Murphy from Room 14 for winning awards for defense, spirit and being helpful at the PeacePlayers - Northern Ireland Easter basketball camp this week. He also made lots of new friends. Well done Murphy!

  • Mathematical Association's Primary Mathematics Challenge

    Sat 23 Mar 2024

A massive well done to Loghan from P7 Room 14 on being the first Victoria Park pupil to ever sit the bonus round of the Mathematical Association's Primary Mathematics Challenge (we had two boys, Harrison Brown and Gavin Wang, who had previously reached the bonus round in 2021 but they never actually got the opportunity to take it because of the lockdown). He received this certificate from the organisers to recognise his achievement.

  • Acrobatic Gymnastics and Tumbling Championships

    Thu 21 Mar 2024

On Sunday, five of our incredible P6 and P7 gymnasts competed in Northern Ireland Schools’ Acrobatic Gymnastics and Tumbling Championships at Bangor Aurora. We had Bai and Sonia as well as Rosa and Oliwia competing in the acrobatic pairs and Renée competing in the tumbling section. This is our first year of running Gymnastics Club at Victoria Park and we are so proud to see what the girls achieved in such a short time under the expert tutelage of Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Perrott. It was a tough competition and we are so pleased with the girls’ achievements, as well as how supportive they have been of each other and how committed they’ve been to attend practices running up to the competition. It was a fabulous day. Well done girls and a massive thank you to Mrs Hamilton and Mrs Perrott for an incredible amount of hard work leading this new club for the school and giving up part of their weekend to accompany the team.

  • BPSFA 5-a-Side Semi-Finals

    Wed 06 Mar 2024

Our girls did themselves proud this reaching the semi-final stage at the BPSFA 5-a-Side Tournament finals at Shankill Leisure Centre this afternoon. After three draws against Lowwood, Seaview and Nettlefield and a narrow loss against eventual winners, Lisnasharragh, in the group stage, they then played the winners of the other pool, Holy Child, in the semis as runners-up. Our girls took the lead but Holy Child quickly equalised and the score remained 1-1. It then went to extra-time and Holy Child scored in the closing minute. A massive well done to Tanya and the team on the superb performances over the two afternoons.

  • Girls Football Team Progresses to the Finals!

    Tue 27 Feb 2024

All Tanya's hard work with our girls every Wednesday after school paid off handsomely this afternoon as the team progressed to the finals of the BPSFA 5-a-Side Tournament at Shankill Leisure Centre. After narrowly losing their first game 2-1 against Holy Child, they soon clicked into gear drawing 1-1 with Seaview in the second game and then finishing off the group matches with 3-0 and 2-0 wins against St Theresa's and St Therese of Lisieux respectively. The finals take place next Tuesday. Thanks to all the parents who came down to cheer them on. Well done Tanya and the girls!
