VE Day party
Sat 09 Apr 2016Mrs Adams organised an exciting VE Day party for the P4 classes as part of their World War 2 topic yesterday. The children looked fantastic as many of them dressed up as soldiers, evacuees and factory workers and in other period costumes. They enjoyed listening to songs from that time, dancing, making gas masks, writing evacuee letters and their own ration books and shop. Thanks to the parents for their amazing efforts with the costumes.

Delamont
Fri 08 Apr 2016Mrs Maguire's class returned from Delamont this afternoon. They had another action-packed day with archery and the climbing wall on their itinerary. They had a super time and were fantastic ambassadors for the school during their stay. Thanks to Mrs Beatty and Mr Dunlop for giving up their time to accompany them. The week has been a resounding success for the two classes and they will undoubtedly remember their time at Delamont for a long time.

Delamont
Wed 06 Apr 2016The children from Mr Ryden's class had a fantastic time at Delamont over the last two days. They were so enthusiastic during all the activities and their exemplary behaviour was commented on by the staff at Delamont. I'm sure they'll sleep well tonight! More photos to follow tomorrow.

Delamont
Tue 05 Apr 2016The children from Mr Ryden's class have survived their first day (and night!) at Delamont. A change of plan meant that they went canoeing on Strangford Lough in the afternoon. The children absolutely loved it, particularly jumping off the pier into the water at the end! After dinner, they went to the adventure park in Delamont, negotiated a 'night line' in the words and then sat round a campfire toasting marshmallows. A late night but a super end to a fantastic day. The last room to go to sleep is naturally the first one up - an hour too early as well! Mentioning no names (Evan, Lewis R, Ryan M, Danny, Samuel, Ben S, Cameron and Ben W). A little bit of rain today but they are planning to go on an adventure walk through Tollymore Forest this morning. The group should be back at school for around 3.45pm hopefully. There is no wi-fi at the centre unfortunately so photographs will be up later.

TechKnow Challenge
Tue 15 Mar 2016It's lovely when people outside of school recognise just how brilliant our pupils are. Mrs Gourley received a lovely email from the librarian at Strathearn School about two of our children who were taking part at the TechKnow Challenge there last week and helped her out. She said: 'I would like to say how very helpful and obliging they were. They are Amber Brown and Katie Morrison, and I wish to commend them for their willingness to help out and for being so well mannered and polite.' Well done girls for being such great ambassadors for Victoria Park.
