  • P7 Leavers Party

Tue 26 Jun 2018 Mr Rankin

Our P7s were truly given the red carpet on Saturday evening thanks to an amazing group of parents who organised a special leavers party at Belfast City Mission on Island Street. They had pizza, candy floss, slushies and a lot more besides. Well done to everyone involved in helping the children celebrate in style the end of their time at Victoria Park.

  • P7 Final Bowling trip

Tue 26 Jun 2018 Mr Rankin

Our P7s had a fantastic final trip on Wednesday afternoon to Odyssey Bowl courtesy of their Young Enterprise 'Business Beginnings' mentors, Seán and JP, who are both managers there. Not only were they treated to free games but they also provided chicken goujons and chips for the kids. We'd like to thank Seán and JP for their amazing generosity and all the Odyssey Bowl for looking after us so well. A lot of the children are also wearing their new leavers hoodies that they were organised by Ellie's mum. A massive thank you to her on behalf of the children. They love them!

  • Couch To 5K

Wed 20 Jun 2018 Mr Rankin

We had a fantastic turnout of P7s from Mr Ryden's 'Couch to 5K' club who marked their completion of the programme by taking part in the 5 km parkrun at Victoria Park this morning. This involves walking or running 3 laps of the park. It has been very humbling to see children who maybe hadn't run long distances before turning up every week for the last 9 weeks to reach this point. Thanks to all the parents who came down to support the children and even walk or run with them and Emma's mum and auntie for producing the flags. We were also joined by past pupils Angie Dzenite and Michael Weir and Ms Youde and her daughter. Well done to all involved!

  • P5 Celebrate Harry and Meghans Royal Wedding

Wed 23 May 2018 Mr Rankin

P5 marked Harry and Meghan's big day by completing numeracy and literacy activities on Friday and then they had lots of fun using toilet roll to create their own wedding dresses and modelling these for the class. We ended the day with a tea party fit for a prince and his future princess!

  • Couch to 5K - Victoria Park Junior Parkrun

Mon 21 May 2018 Mr Rankin

A massive well done to all the members of Mr Ryden's 'Couch to 5K' club who managed to get out of bed on Sunday morning to come down to Victoria Park and take part in the Victoria Park Junior Parkrun for the first time. The junior parkrun is a weekly timed 2 kilometre run for juniors (4-14 year olds) that takes place every Sunday at 9.30am. Despite the drizzle, we had a great turnout and it was also great to see Chloe and Abigail from the school along with past pupil Angie taking part. Thanks to all the parents and family members who came down to support the kids as well.

  • P7 Professor Fluffy @ QUB

Fri 18 May 2018 Mr Rankin

The P7 classes enjoyed a guided tour of Queen’s University and finding out about university life as part of their 'Professor Fluffy' programme. They also got the opportunity to build their own parachutes as part of a STEM challenge. Thanks to Queen's for inviting us to be part of this project.
