  • Davy Wilson Cup Match

Wed 12 Dec 2018 Mr. Gullen

Victoria Park 3 - 1 St. John the Baptist

The football team progressed to the next round of the Davy Wilson cup in style with an excellent win against St. John the Baptist on Tuesday.

Victoria Park got off to a strong start, passing the ball well and playing entertaining football, however it was the away team that took the lead. A fast break saw their striker get between the defenders and finish with a powerful shot that left Aaron with little chance to save.

The home team kept their heads up and continued to play passing football forcing the opposition keeper into a number of great saves. Throughout the match, Zach found great success down the left hand side making strong runs and putting dangerous balls into the box. Eventually the pressure told and Evan finished well to bring the scores level.

The team carried on playing well into the second half and took the lead through a shot by Rylan. The result was put beyond doubt when Kameron extended the lead to 3 - 1.

This was by far the best performance of the season by the whole team. Jay, Reuben and Ebony provided a strong back line, making good tackles and interceptions. The midfield of Kameron, Rylan, Zach and substitute Lewis controlled the game well, with Lewis being denied a goal scoring opportunity by a last ditch tackle. Up front Evan made good runs and was rewarded with his first goal of the season.

  • Neighbours in Need 2018

Sat 01 Dec 2018 Mr Hutchinson

Every Christmas, our staff are always overwhelmed by the amazing generosity of parents buying cards and presents for them. We certainly don’t expect them but this year we would like to encourage you to donate a pound or two to East Belfast Mission's 'Neighbours in Need 2018' appeal instead. They are trying to raise £7000 to support 1,000 local families in need by offering Christmas hampers. These hampers may be their only hope of having a family Christmas dinner.

We understand that some children enjoy handing over gifts to their teachers and assistants so we are sending home some Christmas envelopes next week to make it a little more fun. Thanks in advance for your support of a very worthwhile cause.
