    KS 1 Sports Day

    The KS 1 sports day took place on Thursday 13th June. Somehow the weather stayed dry and the children were able to show off their sporting prowess. The children moved around eight events, including a penalty shoot-out, a hurdles race, a shopping race and the classic egg and spoon race.

    All the children showed brilliant sportsmanship and gave their all. Well done to everyone who took part and thank you to all the KS 1 teachers and classroom assistants who organised the event so well.

    KS 2 Sports Day – Friday 7th June

    The children moved around eight stations on her school pitch, as they competed to earn the trophy for their house.

    The first circuit of four saw the children competing in individual events:

    The standing long jump;

    The foam javelin;

    The junior shot put;

    The speed bounce.

    The second circuit consisted of relay events:

    The sack race;

    The egg and spoon race;

    The obstacle relay;

    The bucket race.

    The day ended with the sprint finals.

    Well done to all the children who participated with such enthusiasm.

  • Go Fly Your Kite

    Fri 14 Jun 2019 Mr Hutchinson

    The P4s enjoyed their recent STEM workshop with 'Go Fly Your Kite'. It was on the theme of space and the solar system and the children then got to design and make their own kites.

  • Well done Zac

    Fri 14 Jun 2019 Mr Hutchinson

    A big congratulations to Zac from P4 for getting selected for the Junior Belfast Giants U10 team. He's a diehard fan too and brought in his David Rutherford shirt in to show Mrs Adams and the rest of the class!

  • Teddy Bears' Picnic

    Thu 13 Jun 2019 Mr Hutchinson

    P1 and their furry friends had great fun yesterday on their Teddy Bears' Picnic at Victoria Park. Thank you to all the parent helpers who came along.

  • Bike Safety

    Wed 12 Jun 2019 Mr Hutchinson

    We were very disappointed to receive an email from a parent about two of our boys cycling in a very dangerous manner near St Brendan's Church yesterday afternoon. In addition, neither of them was wearing a helmet. If your child cycles to school, please remind them of the importance of road safety and that we have a “no helmet, no bike” policy. They should also dismount at the gate and walk the bikes to the bike shed.

  • Well Done Soffi

    Wed 12 Jun 2019 Mr Hutchinson

    Well done to Soffi from P5 who was recently presented with the Best Attendance trophy at her Brownies' end-of-year awards.

  • Sports Day

    Wed 12 Jun 2019 Mr Hutchinson

    Weather permitting, the P2/P3 Sports Day will take place on Thursday and the P1 Sports Day on Friday. Both start at 9.30am on the grass pitch at the back. The children will need to make sure that they have trainers or PE shoes with them. Parents are most welcome to come and watch but we would ask that you remain on the tarmac area beside the pitch. Please remember that no photographs are to be taken of the children in the school grounds. We will be taking pictures on both mornings which will be put on the school website.

  • Keyrings & Lanyards

    Tue 11 Jun 2019 Mr Hutchinson

    Mr Ryden's class will be selling their leftover keyrings and lanyards from the recent Young Enterprise sales event in Victoria Square in school this week. They will be brought around all the classes and they cost a pound each if your child would like to buy one.
