• Belfast Giants Player, Mark Garside, Visits Victoria Park!

  We were delighted to welcome Belfast Giants player, Mark Garside, to the school yesterday. He spoke to our P7s about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and the importance of nutrition, hydration, sleep and physical activity amongst other things. He was also more than happy to pose for photos and sign autographs afterwards. Thanks Mark!

  

• Coronation Celebration!

  To celebrate the Coronation in 2023, we recreated a period style photo of our current P7 classes to match the previous Coronation class of 1953.

• Congratulations to Oliver!

  Well done to Oliver from P4 Room 8 who was picked as player of the match as well as being captain for Larne FC 2015s. Fantastic Oliver!

  Congratulations to Charlie from P6 who was taking part in the NI Gymnastics Championships at the weekend. She won a gold medal for 1st place on the beam and finished 3rd in the overall competition.

  

• Families First NI Awards

  Thank you to everyone for the nominations and lovely comments on our success at the Families First NI awards at the weekend at the Titanic Centre. Mrs McGifford was nominated by the parent of the child she supports and received an award as an Inspirational Classroom Assistant. Mrs Gourley also received an award for Outstanding Contribution to Education for 33 years in East Belfast – and counting!

• Belfast Primary Schools Representative Squad

  Good luck to two of our footballers, Alfie and Jaxon, who have been selected for trials this afternoon for the Belfast Primary Schools Representative Squad. They will be competing with children from primary schools all over Belfast for places on the team. We wish the boys all the best.

  

• Northern Ireland Primary School Road Safety Quiz

  After a two year hiatus because of covid, our amazing P7 team of Abigail, Holly, Lydia and Meral helped Victoria Park win the Belfast heat of the Northern Ireland Primary School Road Safety Quiz at the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service Training Centre this morning for the third time in a row. After eight gruelling rounds, they finished top of the scoreboard and now go on to the Northern Ireland finals in March along with Lisnasharragh. Thanks to the Abigail's mum for accompanying Mr Ryden and the team.

• Beautiful New Kits for the Girls Football Team

  While the boys were away at Ashfield on Friday, the girls were receiving their own beautiful new kits, very kindly sponsored by Anne King of Families First Awards. They’re certainly looking the part for their forthcoming matches.
