Our Christmas Dinner day will be held on Thursday 14th December. The usual dinner price of £2.60 applies and tickets must be purchased in advance (pupils receiving free school meals do not have to pay but they must let their teacher know if they are taking one that day). Tickets are on sale now until this Friday. No tickets will be sold after 10am that day as final numbers must go to Mrs Miskelly to facilitate the ordering of food.

  • Year 7 Cup Football Match

Wed 22 Nov 2017 Mr Rankin

Our footballers also had a great day yesterday,  as they won their first round tie against Rosetta in the Year 7 Cup. They played superbly and scored some fantastic goals. Well done to Mr Dunlop and the boys!

  • Holywood Musical Festival

Wed 22 Nov 2017 Mr Rankin

A massive well done to P3 Room 5 who won the Holywood Singers Cup at the Holywood Musical Festival yesterday morning. They were the winners of the Infant Section. The Senior Choir came third out of the 6 schools competing. This was a huge improvement and the competition was very tough. The hard work of Miss Boyd and Mrs Mitchell certainly paid off. The kids were extremely well behaved and thank you to all the parents who came to support the children - we were definitely the best supported school there!

  • Children in Need 2017

Mon 20 Nov 2017 Mr Rankin

Thanks for supporting Friday's non-uniform day for BBC Children in Need. The children looked fantastic and we managed to raise a 'spotacular' £480. An amazing effort!

  • Online Safety Workshop

Fri 17 Nov 2017 Mr Rankin

Mr Ryden's class took part in an interactive workshop about online safety yesterday morning with Conor and Patrick from Beam Creative Network. Thanks to them for coming in.

  • Crisis P7 Fundraising Campaign

Tue 20 Dec 2016 Mrs Beatty
A massive thank you from P7 Room 13 to everyone who helped us with our Christmas Crisis homeless campaign. We haven't got our final figure yet but we know that its over £200!! We cant believe it... we thought we would raise £50 if we worked really hard so we're all delighted in Room 13. Mrs Lennox's class raised the most in Key stage 1 while Mr Gullen's were the winners in Key stage 2. Each received a box of sweets !! A big thank you to all P7 Room 13 for organising this charity event...you should all be very proud of yourselves for thinking of others who are less fortunate than yourselves!! Well done!!
  • 100% Attendance in September

    Thu 06 Oct 2016

At KS2 assembly this week, Mrs. Gourley presented four lucky pupils with their special prizes from the 100% attendance draw for September.  Every pupil who had 100% attendance in September was entered into the draw, and each of the four lucky winners each got a cinema pass to Strand Cinema to enjoy.  Well done to all pupils who had 100% attendance!

  • School Staff

    Mon 27 Jun 2016

At the end of this year we have to say goodbye to a few members of staff.

Mrs Maguire and Mrs McGlinchey will be retiring at the end of this month. Both are senior staff and have been with us for many years in Strand and then Victoria Park, carrying out many areas of responsibility over the years. Between the 2 of them they have almost 70 years teaching experience and they will be really missed in school. We wish them both relaxed, healthy and well deserved retirements.

Mrs Bambrick has also been with us for a number of years covering in primary one to release Mrs Thom as well as co/ordinating the artwork and displays in the new building. We will miss her enthusiasm and creativity and wish her well in her new fulltime post at Inchmarlo.

We will be welcoming at least 2 new teachers and interviews for these will be taking place over the next 2 weeks. We hope to have both staff here on 29th June to meet their new classes.

We will also be losing Miss Leslie who has been a special needs classroom assistant with us for many years and we wish her well as she moves to Australia.

Miss Watson, Mrs Dawson and Mrs Hudson have worked with this year providing temporary cover as special needs classroom assistants. We thank them for their work and support and wish them well for the future.

We have also been privileged to have a number of temporary support staff, parent volunteers and a number of other classroom assistants completing placements and additional qualifications in school. We will be sorry to lose them all and express our thanks and best wishes as they continue in new employment or further education.
