Another win in the Under 10 Football Cup!
Thu 14 Mar 2019This afternoon, Wednesday, the Under 10 team consisting of P5 and P6 players, defeated St. Oliver Plunkett by four goals to three in an incredibly tight match.
The match began with both teams having their periods of superiority before Riley met Zach's corner with a perfect header to send Victoria Park one nil up. The visitors responded well and were able to find two goals of their own to head into half time in the lead.
Victoria Park wasted no time after the restart, with Evan equalising within a minute before he bagged his second soon after. The game continued to be end to end before St. Oliver Plunkett were able to force the ball home and bring the match to three all. With only a few minutes remaining, it seemed as though the game was headed for extra time, however a misplaced corner by the visitors saw Lee N. pounce. He picked up the ball in the centre circle, turned his man and ran under constant pressure, before hammering the ball into the back of the net.
A superb result against a quality side means the team now wait for the quarter final draw.
Team: Lee B. (GK), Lewis, Jackson, Sebastian, Zach, Jay Jay, Evan, Riley, Lee N., Alex, Dawid.

Strandburn Street Crossing
Mon 11 Mar 2019Our school crossing patrol, David Boal, sadly finished on Friday. We have a new gentleman ready to start, but as the Education Authority has no-one available to train him at present, we are not allowed to let him begin work. Therefore there will be no crossing patrol at the corner of Strandburn Street until this takes place. Please advise your child to take extra care and ensure that they use the crossing if they go home this way.

Girl's 5-a-side Tournament
Thu 07 Mar 2019Mr Ryden was absolutely delighted with the performance of his team of P6 and P7 girls as they represented the school at the girls' 5-a-side tournament organised by the Belfast Primary Schools Football Association this afternoon at Shankill Leisure Centre. They finished third in a very tough group, winning their matches against St Patrick's and St Matthew's, drawing against Holy Child and losing against Orangefield and eventual group winners Christ the Redeemer. All their hard work over the last few weeks definitely paid off.

After eight gruelling rounds, the eventual winners were Steelstown Primary School. Rainbow Communications 5-side-tournament
Tue 19 Feb 2019It just wasn't meant to be for our footballers last week unfortunately. St Thérèse of Lisieux ran out as winners at the finals of the Rainbow Communications 5-side-tournament held at Shankill Leisure Centre last Wednesday and they narrowly lost their semi-final in the Davy Wilson Cup on Thursday against Campbell College Junior School conceding two goals in the last few minutes. Huge credit must go to Mr Gullen and the children for reaching the latter stages of both competitions. Thanks to the BPSFA for forwarding these great photos from Rainbow of our footballers at the 5-a-side finals.
