  • NSPCC Number Day

Wed 05 Feb 2020 Mr Hutchinson
We are delighted to be supporting the NSPCC by taking part in their Number Day on Friday. We will be having lots of maths and number fun at school to raise money to support this fantastic charity. If you would like to donate a small amount of money, please send it in with your child on Friday. In addition, we are holding an estimation competition for the children to guess how many Smarties there are in a jar. If your child would like to enter, please complete their guess on one of the slips on the sheet attached to the letter sent home today. The jar was brought round to all the classes today and they can have another look in assembly tomorrow. There are some photos below as well. Each entry costs £1 and all the proceeds again will go to the NSPCC. They can have more than one entry if you want to. The closest estimate will win the jar of Smarties!
  • Surprised by Grace Rehearsal

Wed 05 Feb 2020 Mr Hutchinson
Zac, Ollie, Rhys, Sarah, Mollie, Abigail, Eva and Katie from P5 Room 10 went to St Matthew's Primary School this morning to rehearse for 'Surprised by Grace', a play they're performing in Methodist College tomorrow night. We had lots of fun meeting new friends and working with Chris and Ross from Play it by Ear drama company. This will be the second year that our school has taken part in The 4 Corners Festival, representing East Belfast. Detail about tomorrow night's play can be found using this link (https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/surprised-by-grace-tickets-8…). The children taking part are really excited and we know that they will be the stars of the show!

  • P4 Class work

Tue 04 Feb 2020 Mr Hutchinson
Mrs Adams has been very impressed with the hard work of her class. They made dragons and explored tangrams to mark the Chinese New Year last week. Abigail also spoke very well about her memory box which included a family tree and a personal picture timeline as part of their talking and listening work.
  • Tour of Queen's University!

Mon 03 Feb 2020 Mr Hutchinson
The P7 classes enjoyed a guided tour of Queen’s University and finding out about university life as part of their 'Professor Fluffy' programme last week. They also got the opportunity to try their hand at dactylography (the study of fingerprints) and chromatography as part of a STEM challenge. Thanks to Queen's for inviting us to be part of this project and also to Lee's mum for helping out.
