  • Diabetes UK Northern Ireland

Fri 11 Oct 2019 Mr Hutchinson
Ben, one of our P7 pupils, was delighted to present Naomi Breen from Diabetes UK Northern Ireland with a cheque for £1500 in assembly this afternoon. She came into school today to talk to the children about how the money we raised from our sponsored walk in June will be spent. Ben and his younger brother Jacob both have diabetes along with other members of his family and he spoke really well about having the condition. Thanks again to everyone for your amazing generosity in supporting the work of this fantastic charity.

  • Poppy The Violinist!

Mon 07 Oct 2019 Mr Hutchinson
We were delighted to welcome back Poppy who came to show us her Grade 1 violin certificate. Poppy is a very talented violinist and she did her Grade 1 exam in June before leaving us. All of her hard work paid off because she passed. Congratulations Poppy! Miss Boyd was very pleased to hear that Poppy is continuing with her lessons at Strathearn and we know she will continue to make fantastic progress. Thanks also to our brilliant violin teacher, Mr Kane, who prepared Poppy for the exam.
  • Handa's Surprise

Tue 01 Oct 2019 Mr Hutchinson
The P2 classes enjoyed reading 'Handa's Surprise' by Eileen Browne last week. The children asked to taste some of the more unusual fruits in the story so they completed an online grocery shop and ordered some pineapples, mangos, passion fruits and avacados. Here you can see them investigating their fresh fruit delivery!
