  • Delamont

Mon 11 Mar 2019 Mr Hutchinson

Miss Campbell's class have arrived safely at Delamont and enjoyed canoeing on Strangford Lough this afternoon despite the rocky conditions. They have also been negotiating the night line around the grounds of the house tonight.

  • Strandburn Street Crossing

Mon 11 Mar 2019 Mr Hutchinson

Our school crossing patrol, David Boal, sadly finished on Friday. We have a new gentleman ready to start, but as the Education Authority has no-one available to train him at present, we are not allowed to let him begin work. Therefore there will be no crossing patrol at the corner of Strandburn Street until this takes place. Please advise your child to take extra care and ensure that they use the crossing if they go home this way.

  • Family First Winners

Mon 11 Mar 2019 Mr Hutchinson

We're winners folks! Mrs Gourley won the Best Principal award and the school won the prize for Best Primary School for Commitment to Online Safety. Congratulations as well to Mrs McDougall and Mrs Beatty for being nominated for Best Teacher. Thanks again to everyone for all the amazing comments that were submitted. We couldn't have done it without you!

  • Girl's 5-a-side Tournament

Thu 07 Mar 2019 Mr Hutchinson

Mr Ryden was absolutely delighted with the performance of his team of P6 and P7 girls as they represented the school at the girls' 5-a-side tournament organised by the Belfast Primary Schools Football Association this afternoon at Shankill Leisure Centre. They finished third in a very tough group, winning their matches against St Patrick's and St Matthew's, drawing against Holy Child and losing against Orangefield and eventual group winners Christ the Redeemer. All their hard work over the last few weeks definitely paid off.

  • Neill's partnership with W5

Thu 07 Mar 2019 Mr Hutchinson

We were delighted to help launch Neill's partnership with W5 as one of their STEM Ambassadors yesterday. They will be delivering a practical workshop on the journey of wheat to flour with Mr Ryden's class on Friday to mark the start of British Science Week.

  • Northern Ireland Primary School Road Safety Quiz

Thu 07 Mar 2019 Mr Hutchinson

After winning the Belfast heat of the Northern Ireland Primary School Road Safety Quiz a few weeks ago, Grace, Madison, Mya and Sara took part in the finals against 21 other schools from across the province at the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service Training Centre tonight. After eight gruelling rounds, the eventual winners were Steelstown Primary School. There were 220 schools who entered the quiz at the start so they can feel very proud of their achievement in reaching the finals. Thanks again to the parents for bringing them again and supporting their participation.
