Welcome to the News section of the website. I hope you find it interesting and useful in keeping you informed of the many events that happen in Victoria Park School.

  • Attendance Matters

    Wed 17 Feb 2016

Please remember that parents/carers are required by law to ensure that their children attend school, unless they are ill or there are other exceptional circumstances.

Only by coming to school each day can pupils make the most of the wonderful LEARNING EXPERIENCES available to them at Victoria Park!

    Please remember to:

    • Contact us as soon as possible if your child is unable to attend school
    • Send a note to your child's teacher to explain the reason for their absence.
    • Avoid making any non-urgent medical or dental appointments during school hours

Avoid arranging family holidays during term time.

All absences and late arrivals are recorded on the attendance roll which is forwarded to Education Welfare every month and may lead to our Education Welfare Officer visiting homes where lateness and /or absence is becoming a concern.

  • School Reminders

    Tue 16 Feb 2016

    Parking

If you drive children to school please use our car park carefully. The drop off area is purely to drop and go - no cars are to remain here or be left unattended. If you must leave your car to come up to the playground or office - park up in the designated area.

Parents may park on the right hand side of the playground on entering the car park. The area beyond the ramp with parking on both sides is for staff only. New signage has gone up to make this area clear to drivers. Please avoid this area as many of our staff are unable to get parked in the morning to get into work. All areas are clearly signed.

Disabled I Accessible parking is provided for those who need to leave the car to come into school. If you are not leaving your car then spaces at the top in the main car park should be used. These disabled spaces should only be used if the blue badge holder is actually in the car.

    No dogs please.

Please do not bring any dogs into the school playground. We continue to have dogs dirt left in the playground which the children have walked through and into school.

We were blown away by the amazing effort that the P5 children put into their Egypt projects when they brought them into school on Friday. A lot of the work is on display in the P6/P7 resource area if you would like to have a look. Thanks to all the parents and other family members who helped the children. They should be very proud of themselves!
