Festival Finals Day

Festival Finals Day - Ormeau Park, 27/3/19

The team took part in a festival along with four other teams to bring the year’s football to a close for the A team. With no trophy on the line it was an opportunity to enjoy their football in great conditions and it was also a chance for squad players to get extra game time.

In the first match, against Gilnahirk, the team took the lead through Rylan only to be pegged back to one all with less than a minute remaining.

In the second game, against Black Mountain, there were four changes made, giving players the chance to start a game for the first time. They did well and scored through Lee, who somehow managed to rise above everyone to score a great header from a corner. A well worked free kick led to the equaliser before substitute Rylan scored the winner.

Next up was Rosetta. This was the team’s most complete performance and resulted in a two nil win with goals from Rylan and Evan directly from a corner!

in the final game, against Donegall Road, changes were again made. Rylan played in goals while Aaron played in midfield. All four substitutes were used, allowing everyone to feature in the A team’s final game of the season. The result was a narrow one nil defeat.

I would just like to say thank you and well done to all the players who have made my first season so enjoyable and successful. The season isn’t completely finished however, as the Under 10 team are in the quarter final of their cup and the girls team have their tournament.

Squad: Aaron, Jay, Ebony, Reuben, Kameron, Lewis Ca., Lewis Co., Rylan, Liam, Evan, Lee.
