The children should be very familiar with using apostrophes to contract (shorten) words. They should complete the BBC Bitesize activities before starting their work. I would suggest children in the Exclamation Marks and Full Stops groups should do the Junior English 2 and 3 activities and children in the Commas and Apostrophes groups should do the Collins and Junior English Revised activities. I have provided a list of common contractions which may be useful for your child to refer to if they are struggling with some of the questions.
